“Part III Line 4d: We produced the Adolf King Summer String Camp done during the first week in June for students ages 4th grade through about ninth grade. The students spend 4 mornings in classes taught by professional string teachers and also playing in groups. On Friday there are additional practices in groups and a concert for parents and friends. This educational activity has really grown from 5 students in the first year to about 50 in the fourth year. We have also begun a youth choir and a youth orchestra in our education program. The expenses for these programs were $6,319. Part VI, Line 11b: The completed 990 and schedules are emailed to the board for their comments and perusal before being sent to the IRS. Part VI, Line 12a: We have a written Conflict of Interest and Gift Policy form which each member of the board fills out, and there is a short discussion of them in the board meeting. These are kept on file in the office. Part VI, Lines 15a&b: The organization has a personnel committee which meets in the Spring and other times when needed to evaluate the employees and discuss their employment for the coming fiscal year Also, the Finance Committee meets to discuss the compensation of the employees. These matters are then discussed with the board for final decision. Part VI Line 19: The By-Laws, conflict of interest forms, Form 990 and financial statements are available in the office upon request The Form 990 is also available at the TN Department of Charitable Solicitation and Gaming and that is available to the public.”
