Financial Statement Notes

PART V, LINE 4:

The intended use of the organization's endowment funds is for general use; scholarships and other educational purposes; the barn and equestrian program; and the campus cemetery.

PART X, LINE 2:

Note 9 - uncertainty in income taxes the agency follows the fasb asc which provides guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an organization's consolidated financial statements. As of june 30, 2025 and 2024, the agency had no uncertain tax positions that qualify for either recognition or disclosure in the agency's consolidated financial statements. The agency's practice is to recognize interest and penalties on unrecognized tax liabilities in income tax expense in the consolidated financial statements. However, no interest or penalties were recorded during the fiscal years ended june 30, 2025 and 2024.

FOSTER FAMILIES UNDERGO EXTENSIVE TRAINING, BACKGROUND CHECKS AND HOME STUDY PROCESS BEFORE CHILDREN ARE PLACED IN THEIR HOME. FOSTER PARENTS PARTICIPATE IN ON-GOING MONTHLY TRAINING. ONCE THEY RECEIVE A CHILD INTO THEIR HOME, THEY ARE PROVIDED WITH ROUND THE CLOCK SUPPORT BY A CHILD AND FAMILY SPECIALIST AND A TEAM OF PROFESSIONALS. FOSTER PARENTS DO RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE COST TO APPROPRIATELY PROVIDE AND CARE FOR THE CHILD.THROUGH OUR HOME TO STAY PROGRAM, WHICH INCLUDES FAMILY PRESERVATION AND REUNIFICATION, HOLSTON HOME IS ABLE TO PROVIDE IN-HOME CARE FOR FAMILIES NEEDING GUIDANCE AS THEY DEVELOP STRESS-MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES SUCH AS COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND APPROPRIATE PROBLEM SOLVING. THROUGH SUCH EDUCATION, HOLSTON HOME PREPARES THE FAMILY TO EFFECTIVELY DEAL WITH FUTURE STRESSORS WITHOUT REPEATING UNHEALTHY BEHAVIORS. OUR STAFF CONVEYS THAT CHANGE IS POSSIBLE AND EMPOWERS FAMILIES TO ORGANIZE THEMSELVES TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS OF MAINTAINING AN INTACT FAMILY, OR REUNIFYING THE FAMILY AFTER THE CHILD HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE HOME.
