| Community Education and E Learning empowers Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of hearing with opportunities to present their info, train others, and offer it in American Sign Language. This is called the Empowerment Series. Many in our community often do not have the space, support or training to advance their skills. DE provides this support. In addition, provides the E learning topics and education free of charge and accessible in their language (ASL, through Deaf Blind interpreters) in person or on zoom. Topics like Suicide awareness and prevention, Asian American Culture and Microaggressions, budgeting, how to present, breast cancer awareness are offered through captions or voice but never in ASL. Through this we also offer culture immersion experiences so people can increase their awareness working with diverse members of their community, for example. DeafBlind community Immersion, taught us how to guide, how to communicate with DeafBlind, and how to use Pro Tactile. Community Engagement Opportunities programs offer all ages youth to Seniors opportunity to engage in activities accessible to them. Some examples include Self-Defense, Family Friendly events such as Fall Adventures, Community Gathering, Cookout and Deaf Eco System fair. At these events, members are connected, it helps reduce isolation, share information supports mental health and well being and connects members of the community to resources that they need. These also include partnerships with hearing partners such a Twins for a baseball clinic for deaf youth and kids, Day Camp for D, DB, HH kid, family social for parents who are hearing with deaf kids and more. Advocacy, Training and Consultations has three hats. One is to provide direct services to our community for support that they need whether it is using the Deaf Community Health workers in our program to connect to housing, lawyers, free food shelfs services, or to requiring support advocating at the clinics for access or filing reports. We provide referral to our client and help them navigate the system. We also provide training and consultations to hearing service providers who do want to welcome deaf community members but do not have the skills to do so. We help assess, and provide them with skills they need to make change to welcome them. “Emergency Assistance to D, DB, HH individuals who may need help with transportation, payment on home, food, electricity and other supports Support to small organizations to host featured speaker, scholarship”
“Our other expenses include ASL Interpreters, CART services, DeafBlind Interpreters, Tactile Interpreters, Access fees, rooms at the conference and retreat for access fees, Transportation for DeafBlind through private services. Many of our workshops required atleast 4-5 Interpreters especially for DeafBlind, in a addition when we did online workshops, the fees to make the room bigger. We had to rent meeting rooms to accommodate our group”
“We are a non profit that volunteers. We get grants, and the grants go directly to the community, their education opportunities, events. We do not Fundraise. When we host events like the community resource fair, anyone that supports the food, the interpreters, etc, all that money goes back to the community. We do not keep the money. When we pay stipend for Interpreters, for events, it goes directly to the people. We pay for access (Interpreters, CART, DeafBlind Interpreters) it goes directly to them as a stipend for their services.”

Many of our workshops required atleast 4-5 Interpreters especially for DeafBlind, in a addition when we did online workshops, the fees to make the room bigger. We had to rent meeting rooms to accommodate our group |

We pay for access (Interpreters, CART, DeafBlind Interpreters) it goes directly to them as a stipend for their services. |

| ReasonableCauseExplanation/ExplanationTxt | 0 | We were told that if our FY ended in Dec, we file in July of 2025. We also got more grant this year so we were told we needed to file a different form. This form, which we are filing by the 15th of July, does not fit our needs. We have consulted and are hiring propel to help teach us. We have two Banking and Accounting people on our team. We feel the rules have changed. We also wonder if we could file in December right after we end the FY. please do let us know if we are late, but when talking to the people at the office, we filed the same time last year, so we are not sure why the above states that we are late. If you look at our records, you will notice we always file in July. We will be happy to change that if required. thanks for your patience and support. |
