Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require foundation management to evaluate tax positions taken by the foundation and recognize a tax liability (or asset) if the foundation has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the taxing authorities. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the foundation, and has concluded that as of september 30, 2024, there are no uncertain tax positions taken or expected to be taken which would require recognition of a liability (or asset) or disclosure in the consolidated financial statements. The foundation is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress.

PART III, LINE 4:

The statues and wall of honor (collections) are an integral part of the mission of the iaff foundation via the fallen fighter memorial fund as they serve to honor the sacrifice made by iaff members who serve as professional fire fighters and emergency medical personnel who have given their lives in the line of duty. These collections serve to uplift the families, friends, and loved ones and celebrate the lives, heroism, and accomplishments of those who have fallen.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES GENERALLY ACCEPTED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA REQUIRE FOUNDATION MANAGEMENT TO EVALUATE TAX POSITIONS TAKEN BY THE FOUNDATION AND RECOGNIZE A TAX LIABILITY (OR ASSET) IF THE FOUNDATION HAS TAKEN AN UNCERTAIN POSITION THAT MORE LIKELY THAN NOT WOULD NOT BE SUSTAINED UPON EXAMINATION BY THE TAXING AUTHORITIES.
IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1THE STATUES AND WALL OF HONOR (COLLECTIONS) ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE MISSION OF THE IAFF FOUNDATION VIA THE FALLEN FIGHTER MEMORIAL FUND AS THEY SERVE TO HONOR THE SACRIFICE MADE BY IAFF MEMBERS WHO SERVE AS PROFESSIONAL FIRE FIGHTERS AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL PERSONNEL WHO HAVE GIVEN THEIR LIVES IN THE LINE OF DUTY. THESE COLLECTIONS SERVE TO UPLIFT THE FAMILIES, FRIENDS, AND LOVED ONES AND CELEBRATE THE LIVES, HEROISM, AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THOSE WHO HAVE FALLEN.
