Successful Camp Season: Camp Winonah was able to serve nearly 100 youth at our overnight summer camp located in Harriman, NY. These children, ages 6-13, mainly reside in underserved communities of Newark, NJ. Most of them have never left their 12 block neighborhood so to travel 45 minutes away from them is not only an adventure but also a positive experience for the noise and at times, acts of senseless violence. The children enjoyed sessions ranging from 1 - 3 weeks where they experiences living in a cabin, swimming, arts and crafts and photography, hiking, nature education and much more. Additionally, the campers participated in life-skills workshops in order to become more aware of themselves, their feelings, and the necessity of being the best versions of themselves. Camp Winonah was able to provide summer programming directly from the financial contributions from the Victoria Foundation and Fresh Air Fund.$45,000$45,000
Became a fellow of the Stories Invincible initiative.$5,000$5,000
Photography Education: The Foundation was contracted by several organizations including Rutgers University, Young Audiences of Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and Morris Arts to provide photography workshops and residencies to school students. Participants learned cell phone photography, analog/film photography, photo collages, and much more. Most of the workshops and residencies included a self portrait component where the students learned the importance of positive self-imagery. Many of the host schools provided space for the students to exhibit the artwork during their respective culminating events.--
