“The florida chamber foundation is a statewide, business-led, non-partisan research and future-oriented think tank working in partnership with regional and state leaders to secure florida's future. Founded in 1968, the florida chamber foundation is an essential voice for improving florida's pro-business climate to enable florida to grow, diversify, and prosper. As the florida chamber foundation continues developing partnerships around florida to prepare for 2030, we seek florida's top business leaders, nonprofit professionals, and futurists to unite florida's business community. Collective action and philanthropic alignment will guide the florida chamber foundation's florida 2030 blueprint initiative to secure florida's future. Florida is creating approximately 1 in every 10 new u.s. Jobs and has grown to the 16th largest economy in the world (if florida was a country). Our goal is for florida to grow to be the 10th largest economy in the world by 2030, while at the same time ensuring that every floridian has a pathway to prosperity and self-sufficiency as we ensure vibrancy and resiliency for every florida community. We are uniting florida's top businesses to join us in leading a unified effort to secure florida's future. The florida chamber foundation community development partners represent job creators and community builders with a statewide footprint committed to championing solutions for florida's long-term economic success. Their investment also plays a vital role in funding key tools such as www.thefloridascorecard.org, a dynamic online tool that identifies and tracks the key factors impacting florida's future, gives local stakeholders the power to measure progress within their own communities and provides florida leaders with the metrics they need to secure florida's future. Additionally, the cdp council's investment also helps fund key research projects and economic analysis that drives solutions to secure florida's future. Florida's leaders-such as those serving on the cdp council-have the unique opportunity to position florida as the national example of free enterprise, job creation, and proven results. Community development partners meet with other thought leaders and futurists from across the state and nation to help steer florida toward long-term solutions, leveraging the network of offices, employees and relationships cdp companies bring to bear. Since its inception, the florida chamber foundation has brought together the best and brightest minds from the business community to position florida for success. We will continue to provide solutions and direction for florida and it is essential that we have the right people and organizations engaged in a long-term view on how to make florida more globally competitive.”
“The florida chamber foundation's florida 2030 blueprint is a unifying and visionary strategic plan for florida's future with 39 goals contained within six pillars to guide florida to growing into a top 10 global economy, creating a path to prosperity for all zip codes in florida and positioning florida as the top state for attracting and retaining talent and visitors of all ages. To reach the florida 2030 blueprint goals takes creating movements, all year long, to unite the business community to drive non-partisan solutions and to move the needle to make sure florida continues on the path to secure florida's future. Part of the all-year-long movement includes five florida chamber foundation educational solution summits that bring to life the strategic initiatives, pillars and progress being made on the 39 goals. These one-day events bring together leading voices, business leaders, community and statewide leaders, educators, nonprofit leaders, lawmakers, and other key stakeholders to continue the conversation and report on the progress being made each year on the respective florida 2030 blueprint goals tied to each board-directed strategic initiative via educational and interactive solution summits. Each of the goals is measured and tracked on www.thefloridascorecard.org - a dynamic online tool that identifies and tracks the key factors impacting florida's future. The florida scorecard gives local stakeholders the power to measure progress within their own communities and provides floridians with the metrics they need to secure florida's future. At the conclusion of each solution summit, attendees leave with a clear roadmap to how they can further engage with the florida chamber foundation, each strategic initiative, continuing conversations and work as well as how to unite locally make an impact in their own community down to the zip code/neighborhood level. Participants are focused on creating economic opportunity for all and putting the long term ahead of the short term. The florida chamber foundation solutions summits include: -florida economic outlook & jobs solution summits (january) -florida prosperity & economic opportunity solution summit (may) -florida learners to earners workforce solution summit (june) -florida technology & innovation solution summit (august) -florida transportation, growth & infrastructure solution summit (december) the florida chamber foundation's solution summits culminate annually in the future of florida forum each fall. “Currently there are over 700,000 children living in poverty in florida's 983 zip codes. Half of them live in just 150, or 15%, of florida's 983 zip codes. The florida prosperity project was born out of the idea that the zip code a person is born into should not dictate their future opportunities. We believe no child should wonder where their next meal will come from. We believe that no child should wonder where they will safely sleep at night. We believe that no child should worry about who will protect them. Part of the florida chamber foundation's florida 2030 blueprint, the goal of the florida prosperity project is to cut florida's childhood poverty in half by 2030. The 10 root causes of generational poverty our research into childhood poverty identified ten root causes that create the cycle of generational poverty; 1.lack of employment opportunities 2.lack of education & workforce development 3.unaffordable and unattainable housing 4.poor transportation options 5.disproportionate adverse health outcomes 6.food insecurity 7.unaffordable & unattainable child care and family care 8.unsafe environments, 9.imbalance of outcomes in the criminal justice system, 10.lack of community voice and self-agency our passion to ensure every person has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential is why we created the florida chamber foundation's florida prosperity project. Because we are firmly committed to end the inequality of opportunity that exists in parts of florida, we've taken the full strength of our voices and insights to capitol hill and we have shared our analysis and policy recommendations for change before lawmakers in tallahassee and washington, d.c. Our passion to secure florida's future is stronger today than ever. The florida prosperity project efforts include: -zip code level data research via www.thefloridagapmap.org that helps local communities identify which zip codes are most in need of help and how to best allocate available resources -a statewide advisory board made up of business leaders who are committed to creating equality of opportunity for all floridians -creating a framework to develop countywide prosperity efforts and zip code champions in every community in florida -an annual solution summit that brings together the business community to learn more about the root causes of poverty and share solutions -creating a resource center of promising practices from which county and zip code champions can gain insight -advocacy at the local, state, and national level cutting childhood poverty in half is an audacious goal, but it can be done if we target our efforts to areas within our communities most in need. One zip code at a time. One neighborhood at a time.”
