DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Children?s Corridor Zora Neale Hurston Festival At the Zora Neale Hurston Outdoor Festival of the Arts and Humanities, the Children?s Corridor features a vibrant ?Make and Take? tent sponsored by Florida members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. This interactive space provides children with opportunities to engage in hands-on art and crafts projects, fostering creativity, self-expression, and community engagement.--
Scholarship Luncheon and Educational Support The Epsilon Epsilon Zeta Chapter hosts several annual fundraising events, including the Popcorn Fundraiser and Bingo for Handbags to support the Z.E.T.A. Foundation, a 501c3 organization. The Foundation awards scholarships to outstanding young women in the Central Florida community in recognition of their academic achievements. Our chapter proudly supports the annual Z.E.T.A. Foundation Scholarship Luncheon, which honors these scholars and their families. This event celebrates academic excellence and encourages higher education among young women of color.--
Stork?s Nest Community Baby Showers The Stork?s Nest Program is a longstanding national initiative in partnership with the March of Dimes Foundation. For over 50 years, this cooperative effort has promoted prenatal care participation and healthy pregnancy behaviors. The program features two core components: education and incentives. Locally, Epsilon Epsilon Zeta Chapter implements this program by hosting community baby showers, providing NICU baskets, blankets, and essential baby items. We also support other community organizations in hosting similar events and collaborate with the March of Dimes to raise awareness about maternal and infant health. Participants in Stork?s Nest earn points for engaging in health-positive behaviors?such as attending prenatal appointments, participating in educational classes, and adopting healthy lifestyle choices?which they can exchange for maternity and baby care items.--
Foster Care Support Initiatives Founded in 2022, the Foster Care Committee serves as a source of compassion and empowerment for foster youth. Our initiatives include: - Annual Toy Drives ? Bringing holiday joy to children in foster care. - Curls for Confidence ? Providing quality hair care products to promote self-esteem. - Bags of Dreams ? Distributing duffle bags filled with essential items for youth undergoing placement transitions. We also volunteer with local agencies such as Embrace Families and Great Oaks Village, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to serving this vulnerable population.--
Adopt-A-School Program The Zeta Adopt-A-School initiative establishes year-long, collaborative partnerships between the Epsilon Epsilon Zeta Chapter and local schools. These partnerships provide essential support and resources, helping to improve academic achievement, boost attendance, and increase access to positive role models?particularly for students of color. Programs and activities are developed jointly with partner schools and are aligned with their learning objectives, ensuring meaningful and measurable outcomes.--
Community Outreach and Support In alignment with our mission to serve and uplift, the Epsilon Epsilon Zeta Chapter supports a variety of 501c3 organizations and causes throughout Central Florida. Examples include: - Volunteering at the Orlando Rescue Mission to feed the homeless - Donating blankets and socks to local shelters - Supporting domestic violence shelters for women and children - Hosting educational events on autism awareness and mental health Through our Z-HOPE Zetas Helping Other People Excel initiatives, we aim to support families holistically?addressing physical, emotional, and educational needs.--
