Mission

Internatinal Association of Law Schools (IALS) is an association of law schools from around the world, whose members are committed to the proposition that the quality of legal education in any society is improved when students learn about other cultures and legal systems.

The association is a learned society of law schools and law professors. The mission of the association is expressed in its charter. It is to improve legal education globally by learning from each other. The association brings together law schools and faculty from around the world to foster dialogue on the challenges facing educaiton, and legal education in particular. Our mission is to develop thoughtful perspectives on how to improve and establish standards for legal education. We serve as a forum and criteria setting body for discourse and scholarship for legal education.
