FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

Improve through education and charity the health, safety, and well-being of domesticated animals in our community. It is also committed to preventing cruelty to all animals through education and charity. Goals include, promote and share responsibility for proper care and placement of surrendered, lost and abandoned animals; promoting the spaying and neutering of animals; and education of pet owner responsibility.

Form 990, Page 1, Part I, Line 6

Volunteers and unpaid board members help with placement of animals, and help with trap and release program for cats. In addition the volunteers help with the bathing of animals on pamper your pooch day.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

Seniors' pets meals on wheels project - the senior citizens center delivers food to our home bound seniors each week, and they noticed that meals were being shared wit their pets as they either cannot leave their home to purchase pet food or simply cannot afford it. These animals may be the only companionship these seniors have and desperately need, so paws decided to support a seniors' pets meals on wheels program. We also supply extra pet food through the center for seniors in need. Continued education program - over the past 25 years, paws supplied "the kind news" to all 3rd and 5th grade students in wakulla. This educational program was switched to wakulla county public library. The magazine is filled with colorful articles, short features, and fund activities that children and instructors love. Its emphasis on treating animals with kindness and respect, the importance of proper pet care, and wildlife articles grab students' interest and make abstract values like compassion, citizenship, and responsiblity come alive. Teaching these children early on will help instill compassion and respect for them, teach the importance of proper pet care, the need of spay/neuter to decrease pet overpopulation, and prevent chaining/tethering of dogs. Trap/neuter/return - like everywhere, waklla county's feral cat population is growing. Paws, with the generous support of our local veterinarians, technicians and volunteers, holds two to three tnr events each year. This reduces the number of unwanted kittens born, reduces nuisance calls and intake at the animal shelter, and protects other small wildlife in wakulla county. We also work to place some of the young kittens trapped during these events into adoptive homes or as working cats once altered to remove them from possible harm. In 2024, we spayed/neutered 140 community cats and were able to rehome several as working cats or pets. Support of wakulla shelter animals - paws holds fundraisers and donates part of the proeceeds to help the homeless pets at wakulla animal sheslter. We team up with other non-profit rescue groups to get more animals out of our shelter and into loving homes. In 2024 paws has provided over 1,600.00 worth of vaccines and assistance to the local shelter through our fundraisers. Partnering with local non-profit rescues - we partner with local rescues and share their information on availabe animals and accept donations of any kind on their behalf.

IRS990/Desc0SENIORS' PETS MEALS ON WHEELS PROJECT - THE SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER DELIVERS FOOD TO OUR HOME BOUND SENIORS EACH WEEK, AND THEY NOTICED THAT MEALS WERE BEING SHARED WIT THEIR PETS AS THEY EITHER CANNOT LEAVE THEIR HOME TO PURCHASE PET FOOD OR SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD IT.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1VOLUNTEERS AND UNPAID BOARD MEMBERS HELP WITH PLACEMENT OF ANIMALS, AND HELP WITH TRAP AND RELEASE PROGRAM FOR CATS. IN ADDITION THE VOLUNTEERS HELP WITH THE BATHING OF ANIMALS ON PAMPER YOUR POOCH DAY.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt2SENIORS' PETS MEALS ON WHEELS PROJECT - THE SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER DELIVERS FOOD TO OUR HOME BOUND SENIORS EACH WEEK, AND THEY NOTICED THAT MEALS WERE BEING SHARED WIT THEIR PETS AS THEY EITHER CANNOT LEAVE THEIR HOME TO PURCHASE PET FOOD OR SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD IT.
