Form 990, Part III, Line 2

Class - a program funded by the lastinger center for learning, uf college of education. The program supported providers participating in the performance funding project (pfp). Activity included staff training for staff on class assessment tools and completing those assessments. Based on assessment results technical assistance and coaching to provider programs was offered with the goal of improving teacher child interactions in their classrooms. Elf (early learning florida) - a program funded by the lastinger center for learning, uf college of education. Elcfv participates in this professional development initiative so that providers can participate in on line courses which offer opportunities to earn ceus and stipends for mastery. This work also supports provider participation in pfp. We coordinate registration processes and facilitate communities of practice (training) to support providers as they navigate the courses. We also coordinate payment of stipends.

Vpkai - vpk assessment implementation, this was an award from oel, the purpose of which was to support providers as they implemented vpk assessment. We offered training and materials to support administration of the vpk assessment and monitored provider compliance.

INITIATIVES INCLUDE MANY UTILIZING PARTNERSHIPS IN THE COMMUNITY AND WITHIN THE STATE. SOME INCLUDE: (1) PERFORMANCE FUNDING PROJECT, FLORIDA'S PRECURSOR TO A QUALITY RATING AND IMPROVEMENT SYSTEM, FOCUSING ON CLASSROOM ASSESSMENT, TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CHILD ASSESSMENTS. (2) HELP ME GROW, A CHILD SCREENING PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN BIRTH TO EIGHT YEARS OLD, DESIGNED TO IDENTIFY DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS EARLY AND ENCOURAGE PARENTS TO SEEK EARLY INTERVENTION OPPORTUNITIES. (3) EARLY LEARNING FLORIDA, A COMPLIMENT TO PFP, OFFERING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR TEACHERS IN CHILD CARE, AS WELL AS SUPPORT STAFF HELPING THEM TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY IN THEIR CLASSROOM. (4) DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY, A PARTNERSHIP WITH COMMUNITY AGENCIES TO ENROLL FAMILIES IN A PROGRAM THAT DELIVERS AN AGE APPROPRIATE BOOK TO THEIR CHILD VIA MAIL EACH MONTH FROM BIRTH TO KINDERGARTEN ENTRY.
