| (1) Providing spiritual counseling and materials and spiritual teaching (non-sectarian) to inmates on death watch awaiting scheduled execution in the death house at Florida State Prison. This activity is extremely time intensive-6 to 12 hours per week over 6 weeks and includes final spiritual preparations on the day of execution, accompaniment for the final goodbyes to family and loved ones, presence for the condemned at his execution, and pastoral assistance to the family of the condemned during deathwatch and post-execution, especially as needed to recover the personal effects and the cremains of the condemned. Sometimes, the execution is stayed and so the inmate is returned to death row until the stay is lifted. Because of pendency of the lifting of the stay, special time is allotted to the inmate for post-deathwatch pastoral counseling, usually several hours per month. When the stay is lifted, a new deathwatch begins. Corporation President Dale S. Recinella, covered three (3) death watches in 2020 (Dailey.) The deathwatches for James Dailey, starting in September 2019 and continuing through the end of June of 2020 - the longest continuous deathwatch under Florida's modern death penalty. Because of Covid, there were no deathwatches in 2021. | $0 | $13,000 |
| (2) Providing in depth spiritual counseling for death row inmates through one-on-one pastoral appointments made available in special rooms provided by the prison administrations. This includes end-of-life spiritual counseling and pastoral services at bedside when terminally ill inmates are moved from death row to the Florida Department of Corrections Regional Medical Center in Lake Butler, FL. Pastoral counseling and death watch spiritual counseling is provided by Corporation President Dale S. Recinella who has over 30 years' experience in death and dying ministry, 27 years' experience as a volunteer prison chaplain, over 20 years' experience in death row and solitary confinement ministry, has a Master's Degree in Pastoral Theology, and has been certified for this work as a Catholic Correctional Chaplain by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Washington, DC. These volunteer pastoral and deathwatch services are conducted in the prisons and in the death house during daytime hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. | $0 | $10,000 |
| (3) Formally organizing, training, consulting as to coordination and supervision of the cell-front ministry of the Catholic Church at death row and long-term solitary confinement in Florida's two highest security prisons: Florida State Prison, Starke, FL and Union Correctional Institution, Raiford, FL. This ministry of presence is expressly aimed at all 330+ men on death row and all 2500 men in long-term solitary confinement, regardless of creed or denomination. Uplifting and spiritual materials are distributed, including bibles, prayer books and magazines; prayer is offered; and conversation is engaged. Holiday cards, Valentine's Day cards, Mothers' Day cards and Fathers' Day cards are distributed to confined inmates and thousands of holiday cards are provided to the prison chaplains for use by the general population inmates. The volunteers for cell-front ministry come from all-over Florida, mostly at their own expense. Pastoral supervision of cell-front volunteers is provided by the Catholic Bishops of Florida through persons trained in part by the Corporation for the Diocese of St. Augustine. Training services for laypeople, deacons and seminarians are provided through hands-on mentoring by Corporation President Dale Recinella. Prison ministry pastoral internships for deacons and lay people are coordinated with their diocesan Bishop (or Chancellor) and those for Florida seminarians are coordinated with St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, FL. The Corporation also assists the Diocese of St. Augustine with these volunteer services by facilitating training and oversight, providing liability insurance, and providing volunteer care. These cell-front ministry services are conducted in the prisons during daytime hours on Monday through Friday, on the third weekend of each month, and on Tuesdays | $0 | $8,000 |
| Providing assistance to released inmates with disabilities (especially severe mental disabilities) to bridge them through short-term difficulties that could result in relapse (utility bill, relocations expense, etc.) and mentoring released inmates who have been convicted and imprisoned for serious felonies. | $0 | $5,000 |

“Primary Purpose continued - and nonviolence to our homes, churches, communities, nations and our world. It is their belief that much of the solution to the strife and fears that plague the daily life of people in this day and age is set forth in those very teachings of Jesus Christ that: (a) we should serve one another joyfully without expecting anything in return, (b) that we should not build up earthly treasure, but rather build up heavenly treasure by living as simply as possible and helping others as much as possible, (c) we should not overcome evil with evil but should overcome evil by doing good in return, and (d) we should bring emotional, spiritual, physical and social healing to each other through prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit. The purpose of the Corporation is to proclaim these teachings and their application in day-to-day modern life situations-especially for middle class lay people with children and families-and to do so in ways that will be accessible by everyone, even those who can't afford to pay for materials, who are incarcerated, or are in far distant places.”

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 2 | Primary Purpose continued - and nonviolence to our homes, churches, communities, nations and our world. The purpose of the Corporation is to proclaim these teachings and their application in day-to-day modern life situations-especially for middle class lay people with children and families-and to do so in ways that will be accessible by everyone, even those who can't afford to pay for materials, who are incarcerated, or are in far distant places. |
