“Alcoholics anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and to recover from alcoholism. North florida area conference, inc. Is comprised of districts and over 800 groups of alcoholics anonymous. Representatives of group districts attend quarterly assemblies where area committees provide information to enable the membership to "carry the message" to the still-suffering alcoholic. Accessibilities- this committee covers how to carry the message to those who have problems which limit their attendance at regular aa meetings and enlightens aa members and groups to the special needs of such people. Archives- this committee preserves and stores documents and other materials related to area history. Cooperation with the professional community- how to reach out to third party professionals (judges, probation officers, doctors, and clergy) so they can direct active alcoholics to alcoholics anonymous. Corrections committee- educates the membership on the requirements necessary to conduct aa meetings in jails and prisons. Gravevine committee- details the message of the "meeting in print", the official monthly publication of aa in the usa. Intergroup committee- liasons between intergroup offices in north florida and local aa members, facilitating cooperation and harmony to the benefit of the membership. Literature committee- educates the membership on the usage of publications, books and pamphlets produced by the official publishing houses of alcoholics anonmous: alcoholics anonlymous world services, inc and the grapevine, inc. Public information committee- works with media, educates aa groups and members and is in charge of the video library. Treatment committee- deals with the best way to conduct meetings in treatment centers, detox facilities and recovery institutions. Website committee- maintains the north florida area website, aanorthflorida.org, where area information is available to the public and the membership.”
