Mission

Florida scholastic press association (fspa) is comprised of student publications, online media teams and broadcast programs from hundreds of high schools and middle schools throughout florida. The primary aim of the organization is to educate, train and support scholastic journalists and their advisors.

To encourage and support high standards of journalism in florida's middle and high schools.

FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

Florida scholastic press association (fspa) is comprised of student publications, online media teams and broadcast programs from hundreds of high schools and middle schools throughout florida. The primary aim of the organization is to educate, train and support scholastic journalists and their advisors.

Voluteers set yearly goals for organization, and plan and run the district workshops and state annual convention.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4D

The organization awards scholarships to student journalists and advisors to encourage education in journalism. The organization has an endowment fund whose revenues are used to help fund the scholarships. During the fiscal year ended june 30, 2028, 19 cash scholarships totaling 6,250 and 15 convention registrations were awarded to individuals, 1 grant of 500 was made to a school, and the organization contributed nothing to its endowment fund.
