HOMES ARE BUILT USING PREDOMINATELY VOLUNTEER LABOR AND SOME DONATED MATERIALS. THE RECIPIENTS ARE REQUIRED TO WORK A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS TO QUALIFY TO OWN THE HOUSE. WHEN THE RECIPIENT QUALIFIES, HE/SHE TAKES TITLE TO HOME AND ISSUES HABITAT A MORTGAGE BASED ON THE COST TO BUILD THE HOME. THE ABOVE PROGRAM SERVICE EXPENSES PRIMARILY ARE THE MATERIALS COST OF HOMES TRANSFERRED TO HOMEOWNERS.
