“The general purpose of the corporation shall be limited to providing an organization within which persons who have attended thomas jefferson high school, including adult education, may associate and communicate together with mutual enjoyment, to work in a joint organized effort with each other to promote common objectives for the benefit of thomas jefferson high school, including providing scholarships for students graduating from thomas jefferson high school.”

“The purpose of the thomas jefferson high school alumni association, inc. Is (a) to award scholarships to deserving students of thomas jefferson high school ("the school") and (b) to maintain the relationship of alumni to the school and to each other through written and other communications, and social, academic, and other events, (c) to render aid and cooperation to the school in order to facilitate academic and extracurricular programs and other student activities, and (d) to raise funds by dues, contributions, events and otherwise, in order to support those activities which result in the furtherance of items (a)-(c) above.”
