Mission

Safehouse is dedicated to ending the cycle of domestic violence in seminole county, fl by improving the lives of victims and survivors, and by promoting healthy relationships. Our vision is - every relationship violence free. Safehouse provides emergency shelter, counseling services, 24-hour crisis hotline, court advocacy, outreach programs, community education/training, case management services, support groups, safety planning, economic empowerment programs, and injunction for protection attorneys for victims of domestic violence.

Safehouse provides emergency shelter, counseling services, 24-hour crisis hotline, court advocacy, outreach programs, community education/training, case management services, support groups, safety planning, economic empowerment programs, and injunction for protection attorneys for victims of domestic violence.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

In fy 2020/21, 221 adults and children stayed in safe, short-term emergency housing at safehouse for 6,586 bed-nights, our 24/7/365 crisis hotline advocates took more than 1,679 crisis calls from victims, and we helped create 12,829 safety plans. This program employs state-certified staff and offers onsite counseling, case management, empowerment training and classes, after school programs, resources for child care,and crisis intervention. The safehouse outreach program served 707 adult and children survivors at several locations throughout seminole county in fy 2020/21. Outreach advocates and attorneys work with survivors who are not in imminent danger, not in need of emergency shelter, and/or who have transitioned out of the emergency shelter. Supportive counseling and advocacy hours for the year total more than 3,912 hours for adults and more than 99 hours for children. More than 759 adults attended professional training in seminole county.

THIS PROGRAM EMPLOYS STATE-CERTIFIED STAFF AND OFFERS ONSITE COUNSELING, CASE MANAGEMENT, EMPOWERMENT TRAINING AND CLASSES, AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS, RESOURCES FOR CHILD CARE,AND CRISIS INTERVENTION. THE SAFEHOUSE OUTREACH PROGRAM SERVED 707 ADULT AND CHILDREN SURVIVORS AT SEVERAL LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT SEMINOLE COUNTY IN FY 2020/21. OUTREACH ADVOCATES AND ATTORNEYS WORK WITH SURVIVORS WHO ARE NOT IN IMMINENT DANGER, NOT IN NEED OF EMERGENCY SHELTER, AND/OR WHO HAVE TRANSITIONED OUT OF THE EMERGENCY SHELTER. SUPPORTIVE COUNSELING AND ADVOCACY HOURS FOR THE YEAR TOTAL MORE THAN 3,912 HOURS FOR ADULTS AND MORE THAN 99 HOURS FOR CHILDREN. MORE THAN 759 ADULTS ATTENDED PROFESSIONAL TRAINING IN SEMINOLE COUNTY.
