Overview of the evolution of the medium from the nineteenth century to the early twentieth century. The james mcbey collection is one of the largest of his work outside his native scotland. The eugene savage collection has 113 paintings and watercolors. The cummer's historic gardens are unique examples of early 20th century garden design,with features such as reflecting pools, fountains, arbors and sculptures. A prominent attraction in the gardens is the 175-200 year old cummer oak.
