The finance committee is responsible for the selection, monitoring and evaluation of an independent audit firm and oversight of the audit of its financial statements. There was no change in this process from the prior year.

Financial Statement Notes

PART IV, LINE 2B:

Quest held funds in trust for its consumers of approximately $474,000 and $511,000 at june 30, 2024 and 2023, respectively. Consumer trust funds consist of monthly social security payments due to quest for services performed as well as a personal allowance.

PART V, LINE 4:

During the year ended june 30, 2024, quest held permanent endowment funds at the central florida foundation (cff) in the amount of $84,569. This endowment is invested and distributed by cff in accordance with their investment and spending policies. These policies attempt to provide a relatively steady level of funding to programs supported by the endowment, while seeking to preserve and enhance the purchasing power of the endowment assets. The terms of the fund agreements with cff provide, among other things, that distributions are subject to cff's policies. According to the terms of the agreement with cff, under certain circumstances, the cff board of directors shall have the power to modify or eliminate any restriction, limitation, or condition on the distribution of funds, including their use for any specified purposes or their distribution to specific organizations, if the cff board of directors determines that such restriction, limitation or condition becomes by material and significant change in circumstances in effect unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment, or inconsistent with the proper charitable, religious, scientific, literary, cultural or educational uses and purposes of the central florida area.

PART X, LINE 2:

Quest and each of its subsidiaries, except for qvgp, qvd and the side lyer company, have been recognized by the internal revenue service as tax-exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Qvgp, qvd and the side lyer company are disregarded entities for federal income tax purposes. Accordingly, income earned in furtherance of their tax-exempt purposes is exempt from federal and state income taxes. As of june 30, 2024, with few exceptions, the quest entities are no longer subject to income tax examinations by the u.s. Federal taxing authorities for any tax years prior to june 30, 2021.

QUEST RESIDENTIAL SERVICES PROVIDED HOMES FOR 202 ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN FISCAL YEAR 2024.SEE SCHEDULE O FOR MORE INFORMATION.A PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN IS PREPARED FOR EVERY INDIVIDUAL WHO IS IN THE RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM. THOSE PLANS IDENTIFY EACH PERSON'S UNIQUE ABILITIES, GOALS AND INTERESTS. QUEST WORKS IN TANDEM WITH RESIDENTS, THEIR FAMILIES, AND MEDICAL PROVIDERS TO COORDINATE NEEDED HEALTH SERVICES. A NURSE VISITS RESIDENTS ON-SITE AND MONITORS THEIR HEALTH, AND ALL STAFF MEMBERS ARE TRAINED IN FIRST AID AND CPR.INTERMEDIATE CARE FACILITIES (ICFS): ICFS OFFER A NURTURING HOME ENVIRONMENT FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH PROFOUND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES WHO ARE NON-AMBULATORY. QUEST ICF PROGRAMS OFFER 24-HOUR SKILLED NURSING CARE, PHYSICAL, SPEECH AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY, AND AN EXTENSIVE SUPPORT SYSTEM IN COMFORTABLE AND CUSTOMIZED RESIDENCES THAT MEET THE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUALS QUEST SERVES.GROUP HOMES: INDIVIDUALS LIVE IN SMALL GROUPS OF 8-12 PEOPLE WHERE INCREASING INDEPENDENCE THROUGH CONTINUED SKILL TRAINING IS EMPHASIZED. THE COMMUNITY IS COMPRISED OF 48-SINGLE BEDROOM/SINGLE BATH APARTMENTS THAT PROVIDE SAFETY AND COMFORT.
