Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The ceo/president, board treasurer and chief financial officer review the 990. The form 990 is then made available to all board members.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

It is policy that board members and employees update the chief personnel officer if there are changes.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

Following the by-laws, a personnel committee is responsible for the annual review of the president/ceo. The committee consists of the chairman of the board and a minimum of two additional board members. A performance evaluation is completed by the committee, mutually agreed upon and presented and discussed with the president/ceo. Mutually agreed goals are set for the coming year. If an increase in pay is granted, the committee considers data such as cost of living, average merit and alignment with the rest of the organization. All employees, including key employees, do a written self evaluation which is given to their immediate supervisor. The supervisor completes a performance evaluation and discusses the evaluation with the employee. Mutually agreed goals are set for the coming year.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The association falls under the sunshine law and has an open records policy. This statute allows public access to meetings and records. Tax returns are available on guidestar.
