Additional Explanations

Form 990, Page 1, Part I, Line 6

We actively maintain a list of volunteers that is updated frequently. Our leadership believes volunteers are a critical component of carp's success moving forward. We invite those who go through our programs as well as other palm beach county residents looking to enrich their spiritual lives to support their own and one another's ongoing commitment to recovery by being a part of this special community. Our current list of volunteers includes approximately 50 individuals who assisted before, during, and after the 2019 annual spring luncheon.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

Carp did not serve clients in recovery programs during 2017, as the organization has resumed its original misssion (as stated on schedule o, part i, line 1) and is building two 12 step homes - one for men and one for women (as described on schedule o, part iii, line 4a). Carp 12 step homes carp residences will employ an abstinence-based 12-step recovery model proven to be effective against addiction. Each home will provide a supervised, stable home-like environment for homeless and economically vulnerable men and women suffering from alcohol or drug addiction in palm beach county, so they may practice living a life of recovery embodied in the 12 steps. Our team will collaborate with numerous community services in palm beach county to empower the residents, providing them with tools to become productive members of society. As construction continues, carp's program committee, comprised of board members, will be developing initial programs. The recovery programs will be refined based upon feedback from the full board of directors. Carp's goal is to become self-funded, and has established a mission account to fund ongoing operations. As funds in the mission account are spent, our leadership intends to replenish such funds, consistent with our investment policy - to honor past donors while securing carp's future as a self- sustaining enterprise.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4D

The mission of the organization is to offer hope to the underserved alcoholic and drug addicted. We cooperate with the triangle club that is maintained by and for the benefit of individuals in 12-step related programs. The club provides a meeting place and a place to socialize for individuals trying to recover from their addiction.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0WE ACTIVELY MAINTAIN A LIST OF VOLUNTEERS THAT IS UPDATED FREQUENTLY.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1CARP DID NOT SERVE CLIENTS IN RECOVERY PROGRAMS DURING 2017, AS THE ORGANIZATION HAS RESUMED ITS ORIGINAL MISSSION (AS STATED ON SCHEDULE O, PART I, LINE 1) AND IS BUILDING TWO 12 STEP HOMES - ONE FOR MEN AND ONE FOR WOMEN (AS DESCRIBED ON SCHEDULE O, PART III, LINE 4A).
