Activity 2

Inpatient detoxification is located at the highpoint facility in clearwater and licensed for 35 beds. It is the only such program in pinellas county. The program provides a physical health screening, psychosocial assessment, medically monitored detoxification and stabilization for individuals dependent on drugs and alcohol who meet the admission criteria. The length of stay varies between 72 hours to 5.5 days, with 24-hour medical care provided. Individual sessions, case management, family sessions and educational groups are provided. Clients are admitted and discharged by a physicians order. Referrals are made to additional community resources as appropriate.during the fiscal year, a total of 1,378 clients received treatment. Many of the clients served are indigent and fall below the federal poverty level.operation par surveys all active participants quarterly on their perception and satisfaction of care provided at operation par. Our inpatient detoxification program consistently ranks high in these client satisfaction surveys. In fact, our inpatient detoxification program received the national best practices award for two years in the row for achieving high levels of client satisfaction. This award was issued by mental health care of america, inc.

Activity 3

The adolescent residential center is a full-time 24-hour treatment program serving males and females between the ages of 13 to 17 who have a significant history of substance abuse leading to family, school, and/or legal problems. The center is licensed for 30 beds. Adolescents receive comprehensive psychosocial, nursing and psychiatric assessments, on-site educational services, daily group therapy, individual and family therapy, linkage with aa and na meetings, family support groups, recreation therapy, life skills training, social skills education, daily nursing care, random drug testing, opportunities for community service and ongoing medication management, if needed. An aftercare program is available for youths who successfully complete the program. Aftercare services include group and individual counseling, random drug screening and case management. During the fiscal year, a total of 118 clients received treatment. Many of the clients served are indigent and fall below the federal poverty level. The average length of stay is 4-5 months, based on individual need.operation par has been involved with several clinical trial projects in its commitment to being on the cutting-edge of knowledge and best practices in the field of adolescent substance abuse issues. Operation par has placed evidence-based practices at the core of its service delivery in treatment, program methodology and in assessments.
