Goodwill also provides barrier-free apartment complexes in which people with disabilities can live independently.

Chief executive officer: the performance review for the president/ceo is conducted by the board of directors executive committee. A review process timeline is established and a performance survey is sent to all board members and feedback is requested. The compiled result of the survey is submitted to the executive committee along with the following information: 1) the ceo's previous year's performance evaluation 2) the latest strategic plan 3) the december 31 balance sheet and consolidated profit and loss statements 4) the most recent audit for the organization 5) the ceo's self assessment and written report pertaining to the status of annual goals and objectives and the ceo's goals for the upcoming year 6) an independent compensation comparison report 7) a goodwill industries international comparison report the executive committee finalizes the review and agrees upon a salary change and bonus to be paid. A new annual contract and payroll change notices are signed by the executive committee chairman and placed in the ceo's employee file under lock and key. Key employees: the cfo and ceo annually review salaries of key staff and compare those salaries to salaries of key staff at other goodwills. Salaries are adjusted as necessary to remain competitive in the labor market.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Effective july 1, 2009, the organization implemented the accounting requirements associated with uncertainty in income taxes using the provisions of financial accounting standards board (fasb) asc 740, income taxes. Using that guidance, tax positions initially need to be recognized in the financial statements when it is more-likely-than-not the positions will be sustained upon examination by the tax authorities. It also provides guidance for derecognition, classification, interest and penalties, accounting in interim periods, disclosure and transition. The organization has no uncertain tax positions that qualify for either recognition or disclosure in the financial statements.
