The form 990 and supporting schedules are emailed to all board members for their review prior to filing form 990 with irs. The tax return preparer is available to answer any questions from the governing board prior to filing the form 990.

Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12C

The organizaton regularly monitors and enforces compliance with their conflict of interest policy by: requiring each officer and director and key employee to sign a statement affirming receipt of copy of policy, that they have read and understand it and that they agree to comply with the policy. The exec director periodically reviews these to be sure they stay in compliance. Close knowledge of each board member enables the organization to be assured of compliance. Renewal of compliance with conflict of interest policy takes place annually.

The annual salary of the executive director is reviewed and approved by the governing board. Salary is comparable to the amount paid to other ceos of south florida not-for-profits with similar annual budgets and number of members. This information can be found in the american society of association executives assocation compensation & benefits study. All review and approval proceedings is contemporaneously substantiated by the governing board in the organizations minutes maintained in writing for each meeting held.

General explanation attachment

Schedule i - part i eligibilty and selection criteria scholarships are available to any florida resident that is a graduating senior whose parent, parents, or legal guardian is a member or is employed by a firm who is a member of the engineering contractors association of south florida, inc. A committee of independent members review the applications for the following criteria: act or sat scores, school transcript, letters of recommendation, and 500 words or less written essay. Scholarships are granted in the amount of $1,500 or $2,000 annually for a period of two (2) or four (4) years so long as the applicant maintains a 2.5 grade point average. The committee verifies annually from the recipients school as to whether the recipient is maintaining a 2.5 grade point average.
