Spalding county voluntary organizations active in disaster (voad) the spalding county voluntary organizations active in disaster (voad) sprang to action within 24 hours of the january 12,2023 tornado to assist with response and relief efforts for families impacted by the disaster that devastated portions of spalding county. Voad is a network of non-profit agencies, faith-based organizations, civic organizations, businesses, schools, and local government entities, anchored by the spalding collaborative. Individuals and families were helped with rent, utilities, household items, damaged or destroyed vehicles, and equipment needed for work. For the next 18-24 months, the work of voad will continue to help the community with unmet needs through long-term recovery assisted by partner organizations.
