Form 990-ez, Part III

Southeast Georgia Communities Project Inc. Grants and charitable donations/Contributions: Altamaha EMC Community Impact Grant - 5,000.00 United Way of Toombs Montgomery and Wheeler Counties - 40,073 Sacred Heart Catholic Church - 6,250.00 Public Donations - 12,696.00 Total Grants and charitable Donations/Contributions: 64,019 Total Expenses: 48,252 Agency deliverables: Curbside Food Distribution: SEGCP provides curbside food distribution three days a week Monday through Wednesday from 9 am until 1145 am. The labor intensive work is completed strictly with community and agency volunteers. This curbside food distribution is open to the entire public. Using charity tracker, SEGCP is able to track assistance encounters. At this time, due to the overwhelming need in the community curbside distribution is only given one time a month to individuals unless an emergency situation has occurred. Each individual is given a card with the next months return date. During this period, 2,509 households were served. Taking into account our three day curbside distribution schedule this is an average of 18 families served per day. Southeast Georgia Communities Project Inc. also has a sustained diabetes testing supplies program that is funded through agency donations. SEGCP also provides assistance in completing medicaid applications, food stamp applications and employment applications. Southeast Georgia Communities Project Inc plans and organizes drive through community Food distribution. Agency and community volunteers assist in the food dissemination. This is in conjunction with Second Harvest Food Bank delivery. These events are open to the whole community and held Partin Park in Lyons, Georgia. During this tax year, SEGCP held 6 food distributions and served 400 families at each distribution for a total of 2,400 individual families being served. For each family that comes through the food distribution, a form is utilized to capture the encounter. This is a very labor intensive endeavor and we are thankful for all of the volunteer support. These food drives are planned on a quarterly basis. Southest Georgia Communities Project serves all families in need including low income families and latino and Haitian migrant farmworkers through community outreach. We provide emergency food assistance, health education on many topics, emergency support services, emergency prescription medication assistance, emergency energy assistance, interpretation during office visits, transportation to and from doctors visits, and translation of documents into English.
