(the "Authority") was created as a non-profit corporation on October 7, 1996 by an intergovernmental agreement between Bibb County and the City of Macon for the purpose of returning non-tax generating properties to a productive use. On January 7, 2014, the Authority was reconstituted by resolution of the Macon-Bibb County Commission following consolidation of the governments of the City of Macon and Bibb County. On July 21, 2015, Macon-Bibb County approved the conversion of the Authority by resolution, replacing the intergovernmental agreement, and expanding and modifying the powers and authorities of the Authority as authorized by the Georgia Land Bank Act. At the advice of legal counsel, the Board of Directors of the Authority approved an amendment to its articles of incorporation to allow for the corporation name to be changed to Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority Properties, Inc. Additionally, the new entity established by the Macon-Bibb County resolution as discussed above, was created as the Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority. Effective July 1, 2016, all operations were transferred to the Authority from the non-profit corporation. Because of the nature and significance of its relationship with the Authority, Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority Properties (the non-profit corporation) is considered a component unit of the Authority, and is discretely presented in these financial statements. The Board of Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority Properties is the same Board that governs the Authority. |

On July 21, 2015, Macon-Bibb County approved the conversion of the Authority by resolution, replacing the intergovernmental agreement, and expanding and modifying the powers and authorities of the Authority as authorized by the Georgia Land Bank Act. At the advice of legal counsel, the Board of Directors of the Authority approved an amendment to its articles of incorporation to allow for the corporation name to be changed to Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority Properties, Inc. Additionally, the new entity established by the Macon-Bibb County resolution as discussed above, was created as the Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority. Effective July 1, 2016, all operations were transferred to the Authority from the non-profit corporation. Because of the nature and significance of its relationship with the Authority, Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority Properties (the non-profit corporation) is considered a component unit of the Authority, and is discretely presented in these financial statements.
