Mission and Program Overview

Mission

SHAA works to educate healthcare professional specializing in speech-language pathology; audiology; and speech, language or hearing sciences.

Shaa carries out the following activities: shaa is a vehicle for over 700 healthcare professionals across the state of alabama to study and exchange information related to the processes of human communication and swallowing at an annual convention. Shaa promotes the academic and clinical preparation of the profession's future practitioners by offering grants and scholarships to university students. Shaa advocates for the rights of persons with communications/swallowing and related disorders.
