The conflict of interest policy and disclosures are requested during the new board member orientation. The executive director reviews the policy with board members annually in january and thereafter as questions may arise. The executive director is responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with staff. Each year supervisors cover the conflict of interest policy with staff members at the time of the employee's annual evaluation. The executive director also covers the conflict of interest policy and procedures in an annual staff meeting.

Interdisciplinary team approach to caring for terminally ill patients and their caregivers, including nursing support, medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment, spiritual and emotional support, respite care and bereavement aftercare and follow-up. During the nine months of calendar year 2016 hospice of mcdowell county provided care for 183 patients, representing 15,037 a 12% increase in patients served compared to the same period in 2015. Effective december 31, 2016, the organization legally dissolved.

ADDITIONALLY, HOSPICE OF MCDOWELL COUNTY OFFERS BEREAVEMENT SERVICES TO THE SURVIVING HOSPICE FAMILY MEMBERS AND THE GREATER COMMUNITY WHEN DEATH INTERVENES AND THE SEASONS OF GRIEF FOLLOWING THE DEATH FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS.
