IRS990/Desc0For the year ended June 30, 2025, TCDA operated the following programs:(i) Courses The standard, developmental Courses that TCDA operates include the following: New Board Member Orientation/Governance, Community Engagement, Interfacing with Elected Officials, Budget and Finance, and a host of elected workshops, such as Public Speaking, and TECH talks. (ii) Leadership Training Conference - TCDA hosts a statewide leadership conference for all college presidents, local board members, college staff, foundation trustees. System office personnel, including the TCSG Commissioner and senior leadership, to better acquaint the post-secondary community with advances in career paths and student success. Guest speakers include noted entrepreneurs in education, future career trends, innovative technologies including artificial intelligence and deep fakes, technology of the future, such as flying cars, and state and federal legislation affecting post-secondary education. The 2025 leadership conference saw presentations from the creator of self-driving electric trains, breath kits that detect cancer, and restaurant robots that mix and serve smoothies. (iii) Fact Book & Directory, Newsletter and Statewide Handbook - The TCDA Fact Book and Board Directory serves as a marketing tool for the colleges profiling the prominent individuals who serve on the Technical College System of Georgia State Board and the local boards of directors. It contains contact information on all current board members and alumni and informs the public of the industry leaders who volunteer their time and expertise to make the Technical College System of Georgia the premier two-year college system in the nation. TCDA has colleges that are nationally ranked due to their unique training programs. TCDAs annual newsletter is used as a communication and information tool to advise current and former board members, as well as State Board members, college presidents, and staff, on current issues of concern in education, be it second chance Pell Grants for justice impacted individuals, Dual Enrollment, or Georgia Match a statewide initiative led by Governor Brian Kemp advising 132,611 Georgia high school seniors that we, as well as all four-year colleges except Ga. Tech, UGA and Georgia Southern, have an opening for them. All they need to do is visit the college of their choice and apply. This program has increased TCSG enrollment by 26%.The TCDA Statewide Handbook contains the history of the Technical College System of Georgia, updated laws impacting post-secondary education and clarifies many laws governing the operations of the System. (iv) Technical College System of Georgia State Meetings - In accordance with Georgia Statues 20-4-10, the Technical College System of Georgia has an appointed State Board of 23 individuals responsible for the courses and direction of the 22 colleges in the TCSG system. It is their responsibility to ensure that all colleges provide world-class careers that are both current and well-positioned for the next century. All TCSG colleges are SACS accredited and must remain so for degrees to transfer to the four-year university system.Georgia State Law mandate local boards of directors 20-4-11 to assist as advocates and advisors to the State Board of Directors. The TCDA is responsible for training and developing the 22 local boards of directors to comply with and assist the State Board in its mission. The total number of board members ranges from 230 300 in any given year.The TCDA, in its role as educators of the local boards, helps support the State Board and local boards through annual meetings and dissemination of critical information necessary for the success of the colleges. Such events include the ten State Board meetings, the annual leadership conference, Student and Adult Learners of the Year Programs, and the annual State of the System address from the TCSG Commissioner.
