During GOAL Week, as declared and named by our Governor, outstanding students attending Georgia technical colleges and divisions are recognized for academic excellence. From this group of students, a panel of judges selects one student, the state GOAL winner, to serve as the statewide Student of the Year and ambassador for technical education in Georgia. GOAL is where Georgia business, government and industry leaders join our technical colleges to celebrate technical education vital impact on Georgias workforce, prosperity and future. GOAL strives to stimulate the community interest in and knowledge of technical education by recognizing outstanding student talent as well as strengthening the association between educators and the business community.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc2The Accelerating Opportunity (AO) Programs primary goal is to increase the number of students in adult basic education (ABE) programs who successfully complete a postsecondary degree or certificate program. AO helps TCSF colleges change the way that ABE is structured and delivered. Funds are provided to lauch pilot programs at colleges to improve ABE students entry into postsecondary programs, including purchasing software that provides career analysis, skills assessment, and job search tools. Funds also support GED preparation materials and test fees fo economically challeged adults.
