Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The 990 is submitted to the audit committee for review and subsequently presented to the full board for comment prior to filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

All board members and staff review the policy annually and complete dislosure forms annually as well as at the time any change may be needed during the year, which is subsequently reported nicholas house, inc. 58-1762614 for reference.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

The executive committee of the board conducts a review of the executive director annually and reports results for additional comment and approval to the full board. Compensation is reviewed based on performance. A comprehensive salary survey from an outside thirdparty source is reviewed from time to time, as necessary, to determine comparable compensation levels based on geographic market, size of organization and type of services provided. The final compensation recommendation of the committee is approved by the full board. The executive committee subsequently reviews organizational salary ranges for consistency with comparable ranges for like positions in the area based on third party salary survey. The executive director has authority to set other staff salaries within approved ranges and based on organizational approved budget. A record of the board approvals are recorded as of the meetings minutes.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The items are available in paper copy form upon request by funders or interested parties and are also filed with multiple governament agencies as may be required, which are open to public inspection.
