“Gpfs mission is to build a collaborative network to increase the visibility and value of psychology with the vision of expanding the impact of psychology in georgia.”
“The georgia psychological foundation (gpf) supports georgian's psychological health and well-being by funding and programming psychological education, training and research. This vision is achieved by: 1) raising public awareness of mental health issues; 2) promoting research-supported and evidence-based training and development of specialized skills and knowledge for professionals working with marginalized and at-risk populations; 3) supporting and recognizing those who provide services to the community (such as reduced-cost or pro bono work) and those who conduct research that benefits the public and the people in its initiatives; 4) "building collaborative networks to promote the visibility and value of psychology and to expand its impact in georgia. The covid-19 pandemic demonstrated the need for georgians to have better access to mental health resources. In response, gpf launched its "mental health moments" project - a series of free 3-minute podcasts exploring topics related to psychological issues and challenges and providing recommendations for resiliency and coping. These segments are free and publicly available through gpf's website, as well as though popular podcast providers.”
“The foundation's name changed from georgia psychological association foundation, inc. To georgia psychological foundation, inc. And the following amendments were added to the articles of incorporation: 1) the corporation shall communicate and collaborate with the georgia psychological association in carrying out its purpose and mission as set forth in article iv of the articles and shall keep the georgia psychological association fully informed regarding its activities. 2) the corporation shall be managed, governed, operated, and controlled by a board of directors consisting of a minimum of nine (9) and maximum of twelve (12) directors, the number to be set or changed by the board of directors, who shall perform all the duties and have all the rights, powers, and authority of a board of directors of a corporation provided for by law, as well as such rights as are herein granted or are contained in the bylaws of this corporation.”
