FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

The macon, georgia cherry blossom festival enhances the quality of life, community fellowship, and civic pride of all macon and middle georgia residents through the encouragement, development, and coordination of selected recreational, cultural, and social activities. A secondary purpose of the festival is to share our quality of life, community fellowship, and civic pride with visitors attracted by the activities of the festival.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

Their legendary festival favorites. This year, we reached our momentous 36th year as the pinkest party on earth the cherry blossom festival had over 100,000 guests during the 10-day festival. The overall target audience for the festival is families and residents in macon and middle georgia. Over 80 percent of our events are free and offer all ages' entertainment and opportunities to make memories. The 2018 festival received incredible support from 55 sponsors that believe in the mission of the cherry blossom festival-- to share macon's quality of life, community fellowship, and civic pride with visitors and guests. These 55 sponsors ran the gamut in terms of support-- tech support, wine and food donations for events, service support, in-kind media sponsorships, and monetary contributions. This year macon georgia's international cherry blossom festival was full of year-to-year, fan and family favorites in addition to three new, festive and buzzed about events-- the hanami bridge dinner, comedy show, and cherry blossom egg hunt. The cherry blossom festival updated two programs to attract a new audience-- a modernized fashion show and a revamped nightly concert series at central city park. New events: hanami bridge dinner -the premier hanami bridge dinner set new heights by treating guests to a harvest-table dining experience on the pedestrian bridge at mercer university. The beautifully catered event charmed diners with 4-courses, flowing wine, and music soaring above the streets of macon while overlooking the campus during sunset. This sold-out event was very successful in offering guests a whole new dining experience, while introducing them to a new location, a perry, ga caterer, and wines from a local entrepreneur. Cherry blossom comedy show - the comedy show honored festival founder, carolyn crayton, by highlighting crayton's contributions, memorable moments, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into how she pioneered and put macon, ga, and the cherry blossom festival on the map. A light comedy roast served up a fun night of laughter and conversation as media personalities and local celebrities regaled guests with stories. An overall success, guests left happy, and carolyn crayton felt honored by the community she has spent her life improving and empowering. Cherry blossom egg hunt -partnering with middle georgia state university (mgsu) and its school of aviation, the cherry blossom festival created a free and family-centered easter egg hunt the weekend before easter. Split into age groups ranging from 2-10, thousands of children enjoyed watching over 10,000 eggs drop from a mgsu helicopter for each age group. In between the egg drops, children were encouraged to enjoy free bouncy houses, games, and a giant foam pit. The partnership with mgsu highly successful, and the event greatly publicized the school of aviation. Like the hanami bridge dinner, the cherry blossom egg hunt provided guests with a totally new and never-before-seen event in macon. Updated events: fashion show- the 2018 chic soiree fashion show focused on young professionals in the community. Guests enjoyed food and drinks while admiring a macon-native's jewelry line before the show. Once the show started, guests enjoyed viewing designs and styles from 12 local boutiques and 3 macon based fashion designers. Sixty-five models strutted the runway as a dj spun music, and a local radio personality emceed the production. The annual fashion show once successfully showcased local businesses and artists to the community. With its new modern edge, the chic soiree was able to introduce a new showing of boutiques and designers on the catwalk and host guests of a different demographic than in the past. Nightly concert series at the festival at central city park (ccp) - the festival at ccp is the cornerstone of the cherry blossom festival, and this year, the festival presented a revamped nightly concert series. The 2018 festival at ccp brought in 10 headliners, one for each nigh

GUESTS ENJOYED FOOD AND DRINKS WHILE ADMIRING A MACON-NATIVE'S JEWELRY LINE
