Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12C

The Conservancy for the Parthenon and Centennial Park reviews the Conflicts of Interest Policy each year at its annual Board meeting with officers, directors and key employees. Each such person must sign the policy, initialing that she/he has read the policy, understands the policy and must disclose in writing any conflicts or potential conflicts. The Executive Committee then discusses all such conflicts/potential conflicts to determine if further action must be taken. Conflicts that may arise during the year are also required to be disclosed.

Financial Statement Notes

Part X, Line 2:

Management performs an evaluation of all income tax positions taken or expected to be taken in the course of preparing the Conservancy's income tax returns to determine whether the income tax positions meet a "more likely than not" standard of being sustained under examination by the applicable taxing authorities. Management has performed its evaluation of all income tax positions taken on all open income tax returns and has determined that there were no positions taken that do not meet the "more likely than not" standard. Accordingly, there are no provisions for income taxes, penalties or interest receivable or payable relating to uncertain income tax positions in the accompanying financial statements.

Parks and Recreation offers a variety of facilities and programs throughout Davidson County. Centennial Park is Nashville's "premier park and is one of the 108 parks that the Parks and Recreation Department supervises, controls, and operates. Through membership and donor support, The Conservancy supports programming and activities that the Metro budget cannot afford. In particular, The Conservancy supports the Musicians Corner program, which provides free music to the community in Centennial Park. This program has generated over 75,000 people in attendance this past year. Centennial Park is also be undergoing a major renovation and improvement. The Centennial Park Master Plan presents an ambitious vision for the park's future that also preserves its singular history. The revitalization draws on Centennial Park's qualities of memory, community and celebration to achieve a unique urban park environment. Centennial Park will be a sustainable water-neutral and urban green space, where families and people of all abilities will find the opportunities for recreation, connection, play and respite. We are proud to work with Metro Parks and the City of Nashville to renovate our city's central park for residents and visitors alike both now and for future generations. The Conservancy is partnering with the City by undertaking a capital campaign in order for the city of Nashville to complete this project. Further, The Conservancy supports the Parthenon museum by funding typical museum activities: educational programs, exhibits, lectures, and events related to the heritage of Nashville's Parthenon and the original Greek Parthenon. All these activities of The Conservancy further our mission to preserve, enhance and share the Parthenon and Centennial Park so that all future generations may benefit from these enriching cultural and education landmarks.

The Executive Committee then discusses all such conflicts/potential conflicts to determine if further action must be taken. Conflicts that may arise during the year are also required to be disclosed.
