Mission

Jefferson city schools have received tremendous support from the jefferson school system foundation since 1983. Independent of school administrators, the foundation exists for the benefit of the school system by providing scholarships, special grants, supplements, and other specific programs and projects as agreed upon with the administration. The foundation supports the jefferson school system efforts to graduate fully functioning adults.

GRANTS & SCHOLARSHIPS THE FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTES FUNDS TO THE SCHOOLS IN OUR SYSTEM. THE AMOUNT DISTRIBUTED IS BASED ON THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN ATTENDANCE AT EACH SCHOOL. THE PRINCIPAL OF EACH SCHOOL IS TO USE THE MONEY FOR AN ACTIVITY OR RECOGNITION PROGRAM THAT IS NOT FUNDED THROUGH REGULAR SCHOOL MONEY. A VARIETY OF SCHOLARSHIPS ARE ADMINISTERED TO STUDENTS IN RECOGNITION OF THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE. RECIPIENTS ARE SELECTED BY A COMMITTEE OF HIGH SCHOOL GUIDANCE COUNSELORS AND SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS. EXAMPLES OF SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA INCLUDE GPA, SAT/ACT SCORE, LEADERSHIP, EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, PERFECT ATTENDANCE, AND OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS.$14,825$14,825

Jefferson city schools have received tremendous support from the jefferson school system foundation since 1983. Independent of school administrators, the foundation exists for the benefit of the school system by providing scholarships, special grants, supplements, and other specific programs and projects as agreed upon with the administration. The foundation supports the jefferson school system efforts to graduate fully functioning adults.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

Grants & scholarships the foundation distributes funds to the schools in our system. The amount distributed is based on the number of students in attendance at each school. The principal of each school is to use the money for an activity or recognition program that is not funded through regular school money. A variety of scholarships are administered to students in recognition of their achievements and academic excellence. Recipients are selected by a committee of high school guidance counselors and school administrators. Examples of scholarship criteria include gpa, sat/act score, leadership, extracurricular activities, perfect attendance, and other achievements.

Total person program the total person program is available to juniors and seniors attending jefferson high school. This is an enrichment program that includes activities such as fine dining and etiquette training, cpr training, attending plays or musicals, visiting college campuses, etc. Each student is required to complete community service hours. The goal of the program is to make the student well rounded and community minded.
