The executive director completes a 360 evaluation which is sent to 30 individuals who range for affiliate leaders, board of directors, funders partners and key stakeholders who review and make comments. The 360 evaluation is reviewed with the president of the organization's board of directors and the president presents a recommendation to the finance committee. The executive committee of the board of directors' votes on the compensation. In 2017, an ad hoc committee was formed to perform research and provide data on comparable salaries in the region/size/nature of organization. The data was then presented to the finance and executive committees.

Education and support: in fiscal year covering may 1st, 2018 to april 30th, 2019, nami georgia, inc. Served 30,906 individuals with mental illness and their families, first responders and other stakeholders through an array of trainings, programming and support groups. This fiscal year, nami georgia offered 28 train the teacher trainings throughout the state, including training programs for nami signature programs and crisis intervention training for youth (cit-youth). These trainings were made available to nami's affiliates, nami members and other community members. Nami georgia, in coordination with its 18 affiliates, also held 75 nami education classes, 45 first responder classes, 212 peer presentations (nami "in our own voice" & nami "ending the silence"), and 1,307 nami family (608) and peer (772) support groups-equating to 10,297 points of contact over the program year. Nami georgia held 6 youth in crisis education programs which hosted 164 attendees. Classes that are offered by nami georgia provide education and increase awareness of individuals with mental illness and their families at no cost to the public. Individuals who benefit from nami programs represent all ages, cultures, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. In addition, nami georgia responded to 1,252 resource/helpline calls and e-mails throughout the state of georgia. Nami georgia contracted with the georgia department of education for the 2018-2019 school year to deliver mental health awareness training to educators across the state. The contract was executed in september of 2018. Between 9/1/2018 and 4/30/2019, nami georgia coordinated the delivery of 402 classes which included 145 ending the silence presentations and 11 cit-youth classes. In total, 12,343 educators participated in training and mental health awareness presentations during the time period. Of those who were trained, 7,355 and 196 were in ending the silence and cit-youth respectively. On july 31, 2018, nami georgia delivered the first in-person signals presentation to 60 participant stakeholders from across the state of georgia. Signals is a groundbreaking program designed to raise awareness around early childhood signals that are often misdiagnosed and/or overlooked as early indicators of mental health and social-emotional wellness. Between september of 2018 and december of 2018, five webinars were released which are available on the nami georgia website at www.namiga.org/signals. Nami georgia also held a leadership and recovery symposium in macon with over 140 georgians affected by mental illness in attendance. The program included three tracks: affiliate leadership, program leadership and recovery. Finally, nami georgia held 2 stakeholder meetings across the state, hosting 89 attendees. Public awareness and advocacy: in order to realize its vision to have a georgia where all affected by mental illnesses find hope, help, and acceptance; nami georgia sets annual strategies to raise mental health awareness. (1) nami georgia supported three walks through namiwalks, a national awareness and fundraising program, one in atlanta, rome and moultrie. Over 1,800 people participated in the walks. (2) nami georgia also offered 364 presentations on mental health (nami in our own voice, nami parents and teachers as allies, and nami ending the silence) to 13,323 people across the state. These presentations where done in conjunction with partners including; georgia department of education, georgia bureau of investigation, georgia public safety training center, local law enforcement agencies, hospitals and many community agencies. (3) nami georgia also participated in multiple events promoting mental health across the state. (4) nami georgia engaged the services of a lobbyist. Nami georgia and its affiliates hosting three nami smart classes, training 51 advocates on how to effectively advocate for mental health. The organization is exempt from federal income taxes under the provisions of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the organization, and has concluded that as of april 30, 2019 and 2018, there were no uncertain positions taken or suspected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability (or asset) or disclosure in the financial statements. Accordingly, no provision or benefit for income taxes has been recorded in the accompanying financial statements. SIGNALS IS A GROUNDBREAKING PROGRAM DESIGNED TO RAISE AWARENESS AROUND EARLY CHILDHOOD SIGNALS THAT ARE OFTEN MISDIAGNOSED AND/OR OVERLOOKED AS EARLY INDICATORS OF MENTAL HEALTH AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL WELLNESS. BETWEEN SEPTEMBER OF 2018 AND DECEMBER OF 2018, FIVE WEBINARS WERE RELEASED WHICH ARE AVAILABLE ON THE NAMI GEORGIA WEBSITE AT WWW.NAMIGA.ORG/SIGNALS. NAMI GEORGIA ALSO HELD A LEADERSHIP AND RECOVERY SYMPOSIUM IN MACON WITH OVER 140 GEORGIANS AFFECTED BY MENTAL ILLNESS IN ATTENDANCE. THE PROGRAM INCLUDED THREE TRACKS: AFFILIATE LEADERSHIP, PROGRAM LEADERSHIP AND RECOVERY. FINALLY, NAMI GEORGIA HELD 2 STAKEHOLDER MEETINGS ACROSS THE STATE, HOSTING 89 ATTENDEES.
