“It is the policy of atlanta union mission that the finance committee will be responsible for the review and approval of internal revenue service form 990 that is to be filed on behalf of the organization. The board, or designated committee, will review the situation and vote on the matter with the interested party recused from the discussion and vote on whether a conflict exists. Violations will result in disciplinary and corrective action up to, and including, termination or removal from the board of directors.”
“The executive committee of the board of directors is responsible for establishing and approving ceo compensation. The compensation for other officers or key employees is determined and approved by the ceo and reviewed by the executive committee.”
“The mission makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public upon request.”
“Contributions to others - finance & accounting -2,020,143. Contributions to others - finance & accounting in-kind -661,198.”
“No changes have been made from prior year.”
“The mission's endowment consists of one individual fund established by a donor restriction. The endowment also includes funds designated by the board of directors to function as endowments. As required by generally accepted accounting principles, net assets associated with endowment funds are classified and reported based on the existence or absence of donor-imposed restrictions.”
“In accordance with financial accounting standards board ("fasb") accounting standards codification ("asc") 740-10, accounting for uncertainty in income taxes, the organization recognizes the financial statement benefit of a tax position only after determining that the relevant tax authority would more likely than not sustain the position following an audit. For tax positions meeting the more-likely-than-not threshold, the amount recognized in the financial statements is the largest benefit that has a greater than 50 percent likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement with the relevant tax authority. The organization recognizes interest and penalties associate with tax positions, if any, as a component of general and administrative expenses.”
