“The Form 990 was prepared by the organization's Director of Finance and Board of Directors Treasurer. A draft copy of the organization's Form 990 was then provided to the President and Treasurer of the Board of Directors and the Executive Director. They reviewed the Form 990 for accuracy and completeness. All questions, concerns and issues raised by those individuals were addressed and all necessary revisions were made to the Form 990. The Form 990 was executed by the Executive Director and filed by the Director of Finance. A complete and final version of the Form 990 and its supporting schedules was provided to and ratified by the Board of Directors, prior to filing.”
“A copy of the organization's Conflict of Interest Policy has been distributed to each Director and this policy is reviewed at least annually. Further, any interested party who has knowledge of any transactions that may arguably be restricted pursuant to the policy, is under a continuing obligation to disclose such information to the Board of Directors at the earliest opportunity. The Board of Directors will document such information and investigate. Documentation will include a description of the issue, pertinent facts, circumstances and inquiries, as well as conclusions reached by the Board of Directors and related actions taken by the Board of Directors. If the Board of Directors determines that a conflict exists between the organization and a Director, the Director is prohibited from discussions, votes or attempts to influence the issue or decision that is impacted.”
“The Board of Directors set the compensation of the Executive Director annually. When considering changes to the Executive Director's compensation, the Board considers the duties of the Executive Director, the resources available for compensation, the compensation of other Executive Directors of similar sized non-profit organizations in the local area and the compensation of other Executive Directors in the industry. These considerations of the directors are documented in the minutes of the meetings and other documents of the organization.”
“The organization's governing documents, financial information (to the extent required to be disclosed to the public) and Form 990 is available to the general public upon written request sent to the organization at: 528 E Spokane Falls Blvd, Suite 14, Spokane, WA 99202.”
“The Northwest Autism Center utilizes a payroll service provider for time tracking, payroll and tax compliance. The June 2017 invoice for these services was incorrectly posted in the accounting system and therefore expenses were incorrectly reported on the prior year Form 990. The error was corrected but increased prior year annual expenses by $105.”
“The TEAM Conference Committee consists of the Spokane Police Department, NW Autism Center and Frontier Behavioral Health. The committee was created to organize educational conferences to first responders. The committee delegated the NAC as custodian of any funds raised through registrations or donations to be spent only on TEAM Conference expenses. These funds must be held in an account specifically designated for the TEAM Conference and the Northwest Autism Center has no authority over the use of these funds. The funds are currently being held in a financial holding company based in the United States in the commercial banking industry and specifically designated as the T.E.A.M. Conference account.”

| IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | The TEAM Conference Committee consists of the Spokane Police Department, NW Autism Center and Frontier Behavioral Health. Conference account. |

A complete and final version of the Form 990 and its supporting schedules was provided to and ratified by the Board of Directors, prior to filing. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 1 | A copy of the organization's Conflict of Interest Policy has been distributed to each Director and this policy is reviewed at least annually. If the Board of Directors determines that a conflict exists between the organization and a Director, the Director is prohibited from discussions, votes or attempts to influence the issue or decision that is impacted. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 2 | The Board of Directors set the compensation of the Executive Director annually. When considering changes to the Executive Director's compensation, the Board considers the duties of the Executive Director, the resources available for compensation, the compensation of other Executive Directors of similar sized non-profit organizations in the local area and the compensation of other Executive Directors in the industry. These considerations of the directors are documented in the minutes of the meetings and other documents of the organization. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 3 | The organization's governing documents, financial information (to the extent required to be disclosed to the public) and Form 990 is available to the general public upon written request sent to the organization at: 528 E Spokane Falls Blvd, Suite 14, Spokane, WA 99202. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 4 | The Northwest Autism Center utilizes a payroll service provider for time tracking, payroll and tax compliance. The June 2017 invoice for these services was incorrectly posted in the accounting system and therefore expenses were incorrectly reported on the prior year Form 990. The error was corrected but increased prior year annual expenses by $105. |
