Mission

The mississippi workers' compensation educational association (mwcea) is an organization whose stated purpose is to promote, encourage and foster the advancement of education in the field of mississippi workers' compensation law and benefits, along with the rules and regulations, etc., through the dissemination of knowledge by publications, seminars, lectures and other means. The mwcea does not provide legal services nor is it involved in the adjudication of any disputes that might arise in the handling of workers' compensation claims.

“The association is exempt from federal and state income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. There were no uncertain tax positions identified related to the current year and the association has no unrecognized tax benefits at june 30, 2018 which would require disclosure in the financial statements. In accordance with applicable tax regulations the association has not filed a tax return. The number of tax years that remain open for federal and major state income tax jurisdictions are 2015 and forward.”
