Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Pee dee coalition is a private, non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to the reduction of sexual assault, family violence, and child abuse and to the needs of its victims in the eight-county pee dee region of sc which includes florence, darlington, marion, chesterfield, marlboro, dillon, williamsburg and clarendon counties. The coalition accomplishes its mission through (1) direct victim assistance including 24-hour crisis intervention and support services, emergency safe shelter for female family violence victims and their children, and a multidisciplinary children's advocacy center; and (2) a comprehensive prevention education program, domestic violence offender intervention program, and widespread community education and training.

The pee dee coalition is dedicated to the reduction of sexual assault, family violence and child abuse and to meeting the needs of victims of those crimes. The endowment fund was established to support the long-term sustainability of the key services of the organization.

PART X, LINE 2:

The coalition is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code, except on net income derived from unrelated business activities. The coalition does not have any income it considers to be subject to tax on unrelated business income. The coalition believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements.

THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN APPROVED TO ACCEPT REFERRALS FROM LOCAL MAGISTRATES AND MUNICIPAL JUDGES AND ALSO ACCEPTS REFERRALS FROM OTHER SOURCES AS WELL AS VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION BY GROUP MEMBERS. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, 471 DOMESTIC VIOLENCE OFFENDERS WERE ENROLLED AT THE ATV PROGRAM.
