“Regular membership: any firm, association, company or corporation that is a facility based wireline common carrier owning and operating a local telephone exchange or exchanges under the jurisdiction of the public service commission in the state of south carolina shall be eligible for regular membership in this association provided the applicant is furnishing local exchange service in south carolina over its own wire line local loops and switching equipment located within the state of south carolina. Associate membership: any telecommunications supplier or manufacturing company which provides goods and/or services to the telecommunications industry may become an associate member of this association upon application to and approval of a majority of the board of directors.”

“Regular membership shall be contingent upon an affirmative three-fourths vote of the members present at any regular or special meeting of the association at which a quorum is present and upon the payment of the annual membership fee provided, however, that no regular member shall be entitled to more than one vote at membership meetings nor more than one seat on the board of directors. Application for membership may be made in the interim between meetings to the board of directors who may pass upon such applications subject to the approval of the association at the next meeting. Any telecommunications supplier or manufacturing company which provides goods and/or services to the telecommunications industry may become an associate member of this association upon application to and approval of a majority of the board of directors.”

“The organization's information return is reviewed and signed by the executive director. Any questions or concerns are resolved prior to signature.”

“Board of directors determines executive directors' salary. Executive director makes recommendations for other employee, board approves. Compensation is determined based in part on average industry levels.”
