The gibbes museum of art exists to link the art of our past with the art of our future through innovative exhibitions, acquisitions, interpretation, and educational programs that preserve and promote the art of charleston and the american south.
The mission of the gibbes museum of art is to enhance lives through art (see continuation page 42) by engaging people of every background and experience with art and artists of enduring quality; collect and preserve the art that touches charleston; and provide opportunities to learn, to discover, to enjoy, and to be inspired by the creative process.
