“Any individual or business may be admitted to membership in the Chamber upon application and payment of the prescribed membership dues. Categories of membership include Retired, along with various tiers which provide standard benefits per level. Tiers are Classic, Builder, Connector, Leader, and Stakeholder. Members pay annual dues as fixed and published by the Board of Directors.”

“Annually, each member shall be entitled to participate in the process of selecting the Board of Directors. In the absence of a Petition Candidate, the Director seats will be adopted by acclamation. In the event of a Petition Candidacy, an election will take place. Unless otherwise specifically provided for herein or provided for by law, members are entitled to vote only to elect Directors, to amend or repeal the Articles of Incorporation, and to amend or rewrite the by-laws.”

“Members must ratify by majority vote any by-laws that have been amended at any meeting of the Chamber Board of Directors through a majority vote of the Directors then serving. Members must also ratify by majority vote any amendments to the by-laws by petition of the membership at the next Annual Meeting of Members.”

“The accountant sends a draft copy of the completed Form 990 to the organization, where it is then reviewed by the top officers and Board of Directors before it is filed with the IRS.”

“A staff member is allowed to be a member of any organization that is not in direct conflict with the aims, purposes and objectives of the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce. However, the employee should consult the President before accepting an office or prominent place in such an organization. No public statements should be made which are in conflict with Chamber Policy. Even when acting purely as an individual, the public statements and opinions of any Chamber employee can be interpreted as official Chamber Policy. Any employee who might be involved in a conflict of interest is required to make a prompt and confidential report to the President of the Chamber.”

“The Board of Directors annually reviews the performance of the Chamber President and approves the Chamber President's salary and any changes year-to-year. The Chamber President is responsible for the review of staff members, but if any out-of-the-ordinary adjustments are recommended for staff members, these are implemented by the Chamber President under the direction of the Board.”

“The organization makes its review financial statements, conflict of interest policy, and governing documents available to the public upon request.”
