“North american fetal therapy network, inc. ("naftnet") has been organized to facilitate the research of therapy for fetuses. The members and affiliates of naftnet are hospitals and other organizations with fetal treatment in north america having active clinical programs centers in fetal therapy. The primary functions of naftnet are to provide a cooperative clinical research network to study the natural history of fetal disease; evaluate therapeutic prenatal interventions to improve outcomes and to make data on fetal therapies from the members and affiliates available to researchers approved by naftnet. In addition, naftnet will function as an educational resource for patients and for healthcare providers and train future leaders in basic science research in the field of fetal intervention.”

“The north american fetal therapy network (naftnet) advanced its mission to facilitate research and collaboration in fetal therapy through multi-center studies, education, and data sharing initiatives. In 2024, naftnet supported over 50 member fetal centers across north america, providing a platform for collaboration among physicians, nurses, and researchers specializing in fetal diagnosis and treatment. Key accomplishments included: collaborative research: continued management of multi-center registries and clinical studies focused on improving outcomes for fetuses and mothers undergoing prenatal interventions. Education and knowledge sharing: hosted the 2024 naftnet fall meeting in chicago, il, and multiple educational webinars through the naftnet webinar series, reaching more than 600 clinicians, researchers, and trainees worldwide. Data and quality initiatives: advanced the development of the naftnet database to collect procedure and outcomes data from participating centers to support evidence-based standards of care. Community engagement: expanded partnerships with allied professional societies and encouraged participation from emerging fetal therapy programs to strengthen the field and improve patient outcomes. Through these activities, naftnet continues to advance research, collaboration, and education in the field of fetal therapy improving care for families affected by complex fetal conditions.”
