Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

The pantry follows the modified cash basis of accounting, which provides guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in the pantry's financial statements. The pantry's policy is to recognize interest and penalties on unrecognized tax matters in income tax expense in the financial statements. The pantry's tax returns are subject to examination by the internal revenue service and state tax authorities, generally for a period of three years after the returns are filed.
