“Once the Form 990 and all schedules have been completed for the text year the board of directors convenes to review the document together. The Form 990 packet is reviewed line-by-line and checked against both detailed Profit & Loss and Income Statements for the tax year. If any board member raises a question or concern about the information provided on the Forms 990 the issue is discussed any any required amendments are made at that time or noted for future discussion if further research and review is necessary before filing the Form 990.”

“The board of directors determines compensation for the Executive Director and other key officers and staff using compensation survey data from both local and national nonprofit and athletic industry sources. The North Carolina Center for Nonprofits provides a comprehensive survey of local nonprofits of various sizes and industries that includes compensation data on many leadership and management positions. National athletic industry sources included compensation surveys from Road Runners Club of America, RunSignUp, Running in the USA, and Road Race Management that provides data on different segments of the industry, including both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, and different positions.”

The Conflict of Interest, Document Retention, Gift Acceptance, and Whistleblower Policies are available to the public upon request. The organization's Governing Documents and Financial Statements are available to the public upon written request.”

“Due to (i) declining program participation from new competing programs, (ii) many long-term athletes qualifying for their school or other travel sports teams, and (iii) long-term volunteer coaches retiring from the programs, we no longer provide coaching or training programs or services to any athletes.”

“Some general equipment and supplies were damaged beyond repair by severe weather at one or more of our events and were disposed of. Other equipment and supplies were disposed of due to being obsolete and unnecessary and not of resale value. No single item was valuable enough to list individually so all property that was disposed of is listed in aggregate. Due to ongoing supply chain issues or higher prices due to inflation many of those items have not been replaced yet or may not be replaced at all.”
