“Members are providers of mental health, developmental disability, and substance abuse services.”
“The board of directors shall establish a nominations committee for candidates for the board of directors. This committee shall solicit and accept nominations from the membership with only the voting member from each member organization being able to nominate. No name shall be placed in nominations without the consent of the nominee. The nominations committee provides a slate of candidates for election for upcoming vacancies on the board of directors. The nominations committee chairperson shall present a slate of legitimate member candidates to the members for a vote. The nominations committee is composed of members appointed by the board of directors, other than the president or the most recent past president, from various types of member agencies with experience and skills required to contribute to the purpose of the committee. The committee should be comprised of member representatives from each area discipline (mh/dd/sa) as well as representation of geographical areas. There shall be 5 members. For 2017, the nomination and election process was suspended due to the concurrent retirement of the executive director and rotation off the board of key board officers (served maximum number of terms). At the 9/27/17 board of directors meeting, the board voted unanimously to "maintain current board and officers through june 30,2018 for the purpose of legacy planning and potential governance transitions". The executive director is retiring september 30, 2018. At the 3/20/18 board meeting the board voted to have a one year extension of board terms due to the substantial leadership change and to avoid further destabilization of leadership. Nominations for board members will occur in 2018 with newly elected board members to begin serving in 2019.”
