Pages Creek Watershed Restoration and Flood Mitigation Project Progress: Project Phases Phase I: Watershed Restoration Plan Completed Conducted a comprehensive assessment of water quality and flooding conditions. Identified key challenges and priority areas for restoration. Established goals and baseline data for long-term improvements. Phase II: Feasibility Study In Progress Direct outcome of the Restoration Plan. Evaluating potential engineering and conservation solutions. Delivering shovel-ready projects that can be implemented to address flooding and water quality challenges. 4b. Waccamaw Watershed Project Expected Outcomes: The results will provide a foundation for strategic flood mitigation efforts. Findings will guide the development of engineering solutions restoration projects and community-driven initiatives to improve resilience protect water quality and reduce the long-term impacts of extreme weather events. 4c. Black River Culvert Remediation and Flood Mitigation Project Progress: Project Phases Phase I: Culvert Assessment Completed Surveyed and assessed over 200 culverts across the Black River watershed. Identified critical culverts contributing to heightened flooding risks. Phase II: Design and Engineering Completed Completed engineering and design for the two most compromised culverts. Prepared construction documents for implementation. Phase III: Construction In Progress Currently receiving construction bids for the most compromised culvert. Full replacement of this culvert is scheduled for completion by the end of the calendar year. Future construction phases will address additional culverts as funding and resources allow.”
