Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

Upon completion, audited financial statements and form 990 are distributed to the board. Audit finance committee members meet with auditor to review. Treasurer/ audit finance chair provides report to the board. The board formally accepts audited financial statements and form 990.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Compliance with the conflict of interest policy is monitored whenever a situation arises that could be a potential conflict of interest. Additionally, disclosures by staff and board members are made annually.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

The organization's salary structure integrates comparability data obtained from a market compensation study obtained in 2019 from the nc center for nonprofits and in-house completed in 2019. The study was based on market rates for comparable jobs in comparable organizations (size, nonprofit, field, position, etc.). The current structure was revised and adopted by the board of directors in 2021.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19
