Mission

To provide opportunities for people affected by HIV and AIDS to have safe, affordable housing and access to services to improve and enrich their lives, and to educate the broader community about the realities of living with HIV today.

Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
In 2017, the Organization completed 30 years of service and support in the HIV/AIDS community. During the year, the Organization continued to operate two properties, Blevins Too (a six bedroom shared home) and Fitts-Powell Apartments (a fourteen unit complex with ten one-bedroom and four two-bedroom apartments). Approximately two dozen residents were service. The Organization also continued to provide a bed for a homeless person under an arrangement with the Wake County Department of Human Services, and also continued to operate a food pantry supporting an average of twenty-five households monthly. Although the Organization has always ensured basic and routine maintenance for the the Blevins Too and Fitts-Powell facilities, in 2015 it became apparent that the Fitts-Powell apartments required substantial refurbishment. The Organization began a program of refurbishment and by the end of 2016 had spent $54,427 on the project. It had been hoped that the property owner would repay the Organization for the refurbishment costs; however, it will not be able to do so. Therefore, in 2017, the Organization has taken the accumulated cost of the refurbishments as of December 31, 2016 into Program Expense, along with additional funds spent on the refurbishements during the year. In total, six apartments were completely refurbished during the three year period ending Decmeber 31, 2017.$128,494-
